Courtesy photoDifferent year, same winner. For the second year in a row, The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania finished atop theà PoetsQuants Best Undergraduate Business Schools ranking.à Wharton is a powerhouse of opportunity. Students lucky enough to overcome the Schoolââ¬â¢s high admission hurdles are awarded with one of the best undergraduate teaching experiences in the world. And when they graduate, world-class employers are waiting for the schoolââ¬â¢s graduates with open arms. Some 95% of the graduates land jobs within three months of commencement at starting base salaries and sign-on bonuses that bring starting pay to a record $92,057 this year.If you have Wharton graduate next to your name, its something that is going to define the next 40 years of your life and set you up for a lot of success, says Wharton Class of 2016 graduate Garrett Breeden. Obviously, just because you went to Wharton doesnt mean your path is paved in gold and you dont have to work hard. You still absolutely do have to work hard, but it sets you up with an incredible network of peers and alums.UVAS MCINTIRE SCHOOL TAKES SECOND PLACE DUE TO SUPERB STUDENT SATISFACTIONHowever, this year the gap between Wharton and our second-place finisher was considerably smaller than it was in 2017. Last year Wharton scored a composite total of 295.12 points out of a possible total of 300. The next highest school was Washington Universitys à Olin Business School in St. Louis with 272.40 points. This year, the University of Virginias McIntire School of Commerce surged to second place, notching a total composite score of 282.01, very nearly topping Whartons 284. 27. Washington Universitys Olin Business School came in third, with an impressive score of 269.61 points. This year, akin to the previous two versions of the ranking,à PoetsQuants equally weighed three core categories ââ¬â admissions standards, the student experience, and career outcomes ââ¬â to calculate the ranking. In the first rendition of the rankings, Washington Universitys Olin Business School won the overall contest with strong showings in all three individual categories. For the past two years, Wharton has claimed the top spot in both admissions standards and career outcomes. Also for the past two years, Virginias McIntire School placed first in the student experience category, which is a survey of alumni who graduated two years ago.In fourth place, the University of Michigans Ross School of Business catapulted from its 13th place finish last year, taking a very even approach, placing 11th in the student experience and fifth in the admissions standards and career o utcomes. Following Michigan is the University of Notre Dames Mendoza College of Business, which dropped one spot from last years fourth place finish. Villanovas School of Business also made a nine-spot leap from 17th to eighth place this year. The other newcomer to the top ten is Boston Colleges Carroll School of Management, which was ranked for the first time this year.Despite a closer finish, Whartons No. 1 ranking on our third annual list solidifies the schools prestige and undergraduate business education acumen.SLIGHT CHANGE TO THIS YEARS METHODOLOGY TO INCLUDE MORE ALUMNI INPUTUnlike many other rankings that try to measure the quality of education at universities around the country and world,à PoetsQuants puts a laser-like focuson hard data reported by the B-schools and alumni (see 2018 Ranking: How We Crunched The Numbers). Each year,à PQ asks schools and alumni their graduates to complete extensive surveys that have been developed in collaboration with deans and administ rators at leading business schools. The surveys are updated and improved based on feedback from school administrators in February and March. The admissions standards category is based on acceptance rates, average SAT scores, and the percentage of students finishing in the top 10% of their high school classes. All data is from the most recent entering class (fall of 2018) and reported by the participating schools. Career outcomes is composed of the percentage of business-related internships completed by graduation, the percentage of students with full-time employment within three months of graduation (out of those seeking employment), and the average total compensation package (including salary and signing bonus). As is true with our measurement of admissions standards, all career outcomes data is based on the most recent graduating class (2018). Lastly, the student experience category is based on data collected from a survey of the Class of 2016. This year, the Class of 2016s response s were given a 75% weight and the remaining 25% went to last years survey of the Class of 2015. All together, nearly 13,000 alumni responses were included in à the ranking.EIGHT SCHOOLS ARE AS SELECTIVE OR MORE SELECTIVE THAN HARVARD BUSINESS SCHOOLA record 88 schools were included in this years ranking. Another five schools submitted school survey data but did not meet the minimum response rate in the alumni survey. All schools included on the ranking represent the very best accredited business schools in the U.S. Schools are invited to participate based on their performance in previous rankings. Across the board, these are the schools admitting and educating elite young talent.Whartons rise to the top of the list begins in the admissions standards category. With a 6.49% acceptance rate, its tougher to get into Whartons undergraduate program than its full-time MBA program which has an acceptance rate nearly three times higher at just under 20%. Eight schools have an acceptance rat e that is as selective or more selective than the 11% admit rate at the full-time MBA program at Harvard Business School (see Acceptance Rates At The Top Undergraduate Business Schools). Cornells Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management is the most selective this year, sending invites to just 2.9% of applicants for fall 2018 entry. The average acceptance rate among all 88 ranked schools for the entering Class of 2018 was 43.7%In terms of average SAT scores for the incoming Class of 2018, Washington Universitys Olin Business School boasted the highest score at 1,510 on the new 1600-point scoring scale. Southern Methodist Universitys Cox School of Business followed with 1,494. The University of California-Berkeley Haas School of Business followed with a 1,490 average. Wharton was next, averaging 1,486. The average SAT among all participating schools was 1,308, a score in the 87th percentile, meaning that only 13% of all test takers scored that well or better. For the percentage of students finishing in the top 10% of their high school class, the University of California-Irvines Merage School of Business topped all our ranked schools with 98% of its graduating Class of 2016 finishing in the top 10%. Wharton followed with 97%. Washington University, Virginias McIntire School, and Georgetown Universitys McDonough School of Business all notched scores of 90% or higher in the category. Among all schools, the average students finishing in the top 10% of their high school class was 47%.The 2018 Special Report On Undergraduate Business EducationRanking The Best Undergraduate Business Schools In The U.S.How We Crunched The Numbers To Come Up With Our Ranking2018 Report Card: How Business Majors Grade Their Own Undergraduate ProgramsAcceptance Rates For The Best Undergraduate Business ProgramsAverage SAT Scores At The Top Undergraduate Business SchoolsBest Business Schools For Landing A Job Right Out Of CollegeStarting Salaries For Business Majors In 2018 Page 1 of 712345...à »Last à »

A Brief Note On Automotive Pollution And Its Effect On Our...
Zach Twerdok Professor Emily Rodgers 12 December 2014 UCOR Automotive Pollution ââ¬Å"There s so much pollution in the air now that if it weren t for our lungs there d be no place to put it allâ⬠(Robert Orben Pollution Quotes). People all around the world rely on cars and trucks for transportation everyday. Over a one year time period, an estimated 4 billion 160 million tons of pollution is released by automobiles. Not only is this harmful towards our environment, but this issue kills up to 10,000 people in only one nation, but in other countries, such as our own, the death toll increases by an additional 50,000 per year due to automotive pollution. Automotive emissions is damaging to humans and to the earth, but only more efficientâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Environmental Protection Agency). These particles are multiplied in gas guzzlers, some more than three times the average amount. ââ¬Å"Some air pollutants cars can be deposited on soil and water where they enter the food chain. These substances can affect the reproductive, r espiratory, and neurological systems of animals. Nitrogen oxides and sulfur oxides are major contributors to acid rain, changing the pH of waterways and soils and can harm the organisms that rely on these resourcesââ¬Å" (How Does Car Pollution Affect The environment?). America is a growing country and with a growing country comes more cars purchases. The latest census found there 330 million people living in the United States and over 250 million cars registered to citizens. (Cause of Car Emissions)This is about one and a half cars per person. Estimates state that there are a million cars sold in the U.S. on average per year, ââ¬Å"Automobiles emit 8% of the nation s particulate pollution, also known as soot. Soot pollution can cause heart and respiratory disease and aggravate respiratory problems.â⬠(Car Buying Guide) The population is facing more and more diseases because of the usage of cars and the overwhelming number of people living in our country. Introduction to Quantitative Research Role of E-wallets
Question: Describe about the major role of e-wallets in market especially for those who dont have all legal documents to open a bank accounts? Answer: Importance of Research Problem This article has significantly defines the major role of e-wallets in market especially for those who dont have all legal documents to open a bank accounts. People can come to join online by initiating the process through their mobile number and after mobile verification they are able to use e-wallet facilities which include deposit and credit facilities of the variable amount that completely depend on particular person's mobile uses. There are number of variants which define how much deposit or credit a single person can do (McClelland, 2015). This innovative process effectively useful to beat traditional banking system and had initiated by JUMO, a micro-financing unit of AFB Pty Ltd. Now, there are less number of hurdles while customer approaches loans, deposit, and savings through e-wallet systems and they are easy to do shopping and payments. Company like JUMO, has expanded its business in Africa and Asia pacific which are growing economy where people were most waited to see such type of services in order to avoid the tough banking process even for small purchases like; smartphones, computer system, grocery, foods, etc. Jumo incorporated its business with mobile service provider as they are assisting them in data collection and supporting the increased income through small share that brings this firm to $10 million a year a revenue through specific mobile firms (McClelland, 2015). However, there are few uncertainties which identified through a fraud users in this socio-political environment international e-wallet program. For instance, Jumos code writers tightened the loan-loss rate because there was a scam writer who made fraud through 30 different SIM cards and followed lenders algorithm to fleeced $30,000 in one day and resulted, in last two years they have down non-performing loan rate to 4 percent in order to avoid customer risk and expecting to increased business value in next two years by incorporating a new system with more services by the end of 2016. Similar, type of security issues have also faced by few other e-wallet in which Google's e-wallet is one of the susceptible to brute force attacks. This is most significant problem that couldn't be realized by company therefore, assumed they followed a security regulations and mechanism as per the standards of banking domain (Caldwell T, 2012). Purpose Statement Many experts said, one of the prominent reason of such security attacks are due to lack in design mechanism which were seemed to be based on proprietary technology instead of recognized standards and processes. There are most of the companies following implementation using Open Mobile Application Programming Interface (API) and these API provides app developers a common interface to make better use of the Secure Element for their apps, including e-wallets (Caldwell, 2012). However, if companies wants a rich user experience, e-wallet apps must run in the operating system and should consider "The Trusted Execution Environment (TEE)" that design to secure the application functions and global platform can lead the securing standards and interoperability. Additionally, there are banking Trojans family that also impacted and increased the risk of security threats and to create new malware variants with ever-shorter lifecycles which must be focused and there should be significant implementation mechanism to decrease the use of such type of Trojan based mechanism and should circumvent reactive defense mechanisms in antivirus software. Further, there should be plugging holes to limit the risks that consumers face from e-wallets and there is Trusted Platform Module (TPM) that can assist as it is efficiently use cryptographic keys so that to protect personal information which include; debit and credit card numbers, CVV number, and user credentials (Caldwell, 2012 ). Furthermore, it can be possible to consider e-wallet apps with loyalty and coupon features as it can be efficiently useful in m-wallet. Moreover for financial security PCI provides standard and DSS compliance through different levels of PCI that help to avoid critical risks through cardholder-not-present or card cloning. Similarly, cloud security is also important to secure consumer data through Cryptomathic standards. Lastly, consumer rules and disciplines awareness are also required to ignore very basic and possible mistakes like; opening e-wallet in front of others, avoid shopping in cafe's, and many more basic issues which can ignore at consumers end and should be consider by consumers themselves (Krishnaswamy Satyaprasad, 2010). Hence, these are the purposes of e-wallet system security that can expect to join a billion of customers soon in order to utilize the technology benefits. Research Questions How e-wallet has been adopted by the consumers? Is e-wallet a secure way to conduct online transactions? Quantitative Research For this purpose, it is quite necessary to conduct a research or survey to explore the opinion among the users or consumers who utilize e-wallet or think to utilize e-wallet for their convenience. They could be shoppers or even employees. The questionnaire will be distributed to them which is basically a research design of this quantitative research. The quantitative research is mainly used so that the research can get the static outcomes from the participants. The quantitative method would make an emphasis on verification, testing and also focuses on the reasons and facts for the social events. The research will help in understanding and exploring the opinion of the consumers regarding their experience with e-wallet payments and whether or not, they consider it safe and secure for their future use. Hence, the research will help in understanding the statistics of the users who consider it safe and secure for their online transactions or if they plan to utilize it for future transactions when there can be so many risks or transfer or paying heaps of amounts online. The security has protected their transactions but there can be some sort of flat in the system or even if the consumers can commit a mistake which they would not commit while adopting a traditional way of doing transactions. Tupac Essay Example For Students
Tupac Essay The Life and Works of Tupac Amaru ShakurBoth Tupac and Amaru are words of Inca origin. Together they mean, shining serpent. Shakur means thankful to God, from the Arabic language. Tupac, commonly known as Americas most controversial rapper was labeled a gangster rapper and one of the largest figures in the rap community. He was always known for doing what he wanted and not caring what others thought of him. His life symbolized what a lot of people have gone through. Through his music and movies he showed how hard life can be. On June 16, 1971 Tupac was born to Alice Faye Williams in Brooklyn, NY. His mother was a revolutionary as she called herself Afeni Shakur. For many years she associated herself with members of the well-known Black Panther Party. She joined a New York chapter of the Panther Party in 1964 and fell in love with an organizer, Lumumba Abdul Shakur. After four years with Lumumba, Afeni started to see another party member, William Garland who was another activist worki ng with the party members to support their causes. Around this time things were going downhill for Afeni. In 1969 she and other members of the Panther were arrested and charged with several felony counts, including conspiracy to bomb a public place. A well-educated schoolteacher, Afeni decided to defend herself. However, things took a turn for the worst. While out on bail she became pregnant with Tupac. Soon after, her bail was revoked. Afeni recalls: having previously miscarried four or five times, she did not expect to carry him to term. But Tupac, she says, wanted to be in this world. She remembers while in her cell she would pat her belly and say, This is my prince. He is going to save the black nation (Kin 151). We will write a custom essay on Tupac specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now Acquitted and released on 156 counts from the Womens House of Detention in Greenwich Village for lack of evidence, she was now out of jail and eight months pregnant with Tupac. By the time Tupac was born, Afeni had already lined up a job as a paralegal and things started looking up. However, soon after his birth, Afeni started snorting cocaine. For a while she was a very loving mother. Afeni started to see a man by the name of Mutulu as she tried to bring a father figure into Tupacs life. He was also a member of the Panther party. Soon after, Afeni was pregnant with her second child, Sekyiwa. A few months before her due date, Mutulu had been sentenced to sixty years for a fatal armored car robbery. Afeni was once again a single mother raising Tupac along with his sister. A couple of years later his mother decided to move her family to Baltimore, Maryland, for a fresh start. While in Maryland the world got its first true taste of the life and works of Tupac Amaru Shakur. By the age of twelve Tupac had already landed his first role with the 127th Street Ensemble, a theater group he attended in the impoverished Harlem section of Manhattan. Having to suddenly leave the group, Tupac wanted to continue studying theater. In Baltimore, Tupac was quickly enrolled in the High School of the Performing Arts. His mother made sure he was well educated, she recalls He was articulate. I trained him. Punishment for him was reading The New York Times. At age fifteen Tupac began to study acting and ballet at the Baltimore School of the Arts. Although mostly white students attended the school, Tupac felt in touch with them. He recalled:Them white kids had things we never seen. That was the first time I saw there was white people who you could get along with. Before that, I just believed what everyone else said: They were devils. But I loved it. I loved going to school. It taught me a lot. I was starting to feel like I really wanted to be an artist. (Tupac)While in the school of Ar ts, Tupac met a special friend, Jada Pinkett, whom he shared time with and created performances for anyone interested. Most teachers said he looked very promising; unfortunately he never finished school because his mother felt she needed an overall change. Afeni Shakur then moved her family to a small town outside Oakland, CA. Shortly after Tupac moved to California, he enrolled in a college program, which allowed him to finish his high school credits. Tupac gained his rap experience through writing poetry, although no one recognizes this as one of his talents. In 1993, Tupac entered a poet circle where he wrote poems, which foretold his death. In The Event of My Demise is one of the poems taken from actual writings of Tupac Shakur from The Poetry Circle which seemed to indicate he was aware of his eminent death:I have come 2 grips with the possibilityand wiped the last tear from My eyesThis poem caused many people to stop and think about the reasons that could have possibly made Tup ac write this. Could it have been an assignment given by the Poets Circle or could it have been his overwhelming feelings of what was yet to come. Several common people were randomly asked who they thought the author of this poem was, why was it written and who was the audience. Most believed the author was writing to a family member or to people who didnt like what he stood for. It was also felt that the author accepted his fatal death, but overall wanted to be understood. Others believed the author was aware he was dying and was actually writing his own eulogy. After disclosing the poem was written by Tupac, most were surprised yet were able to gain a better understanding of how deep he really was. .uf39b25ee2024b5fbb055d44d97aaac61 , .uf39b25ee2024b5fbb055d44d97aaac61 .postImageUrl , .uf39b25ee2024b5fbb055d44d97aaac61 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .uf39b25ee2024b5fbb055d44d97aaac61 , .uf39b25ee2024b5fbb055d44d97aaac61:hover , .uf39b25ee2024b5fbb055d44d97aaac61:visited , .uf39b25ee2024b5fbb055d44d97aaac61:active { border:0!important; } .uf39b25ee2024b5fbb055d44d97aaac61 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .uf39b25ee2024b5fbb055d44d97aaac61 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .uf39b25ee2024b5fbb055d44d97aaac61:active , .uf39b25ee2024b5fbb055d44d97aaac61:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .uf39b25ee2024b5fbb055d44d97aaac61 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .uf39b25ee2024b5fbb055d44d97aaac61 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .uf39b25ee2024b5fbb055d44d97aaac61 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .uf39b25ee2024b5fbb055d44d97aaac61 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .uf39b25ee2024b5fbb055d44d97aaac61:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .uf39b25ee2024b5fbb055d44d97aaac61 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .uf39b25ee2024b5fbb055d44d97aaac61 .uf39b25ee2024b5fbb055d44d97aaac61-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .uf39b25ee2024b5fbb055d44d97aaac61:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: WW IJuly28,1914, declarationofwar Austria-Hungary EssaySometime after moving to California with his family, he moved out on his own to Marin City, California and began to sell drugs. Around this time he also started to focus his time on dancing and rapping. In the late eighties, Tupac teamed up with Humpty-Hump (a.k.a. Eddie Humphrey, a.k.a. Gregory Shock-G Jacobs) and other Oakland-based rappers to create Digital Underground. The rap group was different; they had a live bass band, and a somewhat funk sound. With the low-key member Tupac, Digital Underground had great success. This opened the door for 2Pac to enter the rap game, where his socially conscious lyrics earned h im the nickname Rebel of the Underground. In 1991, Tupac achieved his dream and released his first solo album, 2pacallyps Now. Tupac told Vibe: Everybody knew me even though my album wasnt out yet, I never went to bed. I was working it like a job. That was my number-one thing when I first got in the business. Everybodys gonna know me. (Vibe, 1995)This first album gained Tupac national popularity and created the first of his many life controversies. One song that attracted controversy was Trapped, which addressed certain issues and feelings of some young black males not having hope in white America. Another controversial song off the album was Brendas Got A Baby, which dealt with the alarming rate of black female pregnancy. However, in April, 1992 the album gained more controversy. A Texas state trooper was shot to death by a 19 year old young man, Ronald Howard, who later claimed to have been listening to Soulja Story off of Tupacs album 2Pacalypse Now. The man cited Tupacs lyrics:is it my fault, just cause Im a young black male cop sweat me as if my destiny is makin crack sells only 15 and got problems cops on my tail, so I bail till I dodge em they finally pull me over and I laugh remember Rodney King and I blast on his punk ass now I gotta murder case. (Tupac)This incident pushed Vice President Dan Quayel and a number of other politicians to call for a band on gansta rap. While all of this was going on with Tupacs rap career, he believed it was the best time to start his acting career. In Ernest Dickersons 1992 film Juice, Tupac played Bishop, a kid who become addicted to violence. Some people said that after Tupac played Bishop, he began to become Bishop. He began to lead a violent life. On August 22, 1992, he returned to his old neighborhood in Marin City; where he was in a shoot out which left a 6 year old boy dead. In April 5, 1993, he assaulted a fellow rapper with a baseball bat. October 31, 1993, he was charged with shooting two off duty police officers in Atlanta, Ga. The charges were later dropped. On September 7, 1994, there was another claim toward Tupacs song Souljahs Story by 2 teens that murdered a police officer. The teens said Tupacs song was their inspiration. On November 19, 1993, he was charged with sexual assault of a 19-year-old New York female. On November 31, 1994, Tupac is found guilty of sexual assault, but is acquitted of sodomy and weapon charges. While out on bail waiting sentencing, he was shot five times during an attempted robbery outside a music studio in New York. Tupac was sentenced to eighteen-months to four and one-half years. Afterward, Tupac spoke with Vibes writer Kevin Powell, from behind bars he spoke of his disavowed Thug Life: Thug life to me is dead. If its real, let somebody else represent it because Im tired of it. I represented it too much. I was Thug Life. Im going to show people my true intentions, and my true heart. Im going to show them the man that my mother raised. Im going to make them all proud. I see my incarceration as a giftstraight up. Its Gods will. Being getting clean after years of incessant marijuana smoking has cleared my head and given me a new perspective on my work. If were really saying rap is an art form then we got to be true to it and be more responsible for our lyrics. If you see everybody dying because of what you saying, it dont matter that you didnt make them die, it just matters that you didnt save them. (Vibe, 1995)Throughout his troubles with the law, Tupac had a very promising career. His first album 2Pacallyps Now went gold. He released two more albums, Februarys 1993 Strictly for my Niggaz(platinum) and Aprils 1995 Me Against The World (multi-platinum). He made two more movies Poetic Justice (1993) with Janet Jackson and Above the Rim(1994). In May 1995, while still in the New Yorks Rickers Island penitentiary, Tupac married Keisha Morris. Tupac is released from jail on bail in October 1995 when Suge Knight, CEO of Death Row Records, paid $1.4 million to free him. In return, Tupac signs a record contract with Death Row, in Los Angeles. The last album released before he died, All Eyes on Me, was out April 25, 1996. This album sold over 6 million copies and was a groundbreaking for its quintuple platinum sales and was the first double CD for rap music. Tupac was not happy recording under Death Row Record label and worked hard to fourfold his contact. By September of that year he had recorded over 2 albums for Death Row but was also mysteriously shot. On Friday, September 13, 1996, at 4:03 p.m. PDT, Tupac Amaru Shakur was pronounced died of respiratory failure and cardio-pulmonary arrest at University Medical Center, Las Vegas, after lingering in a coma for days. He died of bullet wounds to the abdomen and chest received seven days prior. Tupac was only 25 years old. To date, police still have no suspects in his murder. After Tupacs death, Death Row released Don Killuminati: The Seven Day Theory under the artist name Makaveli. On this album, Tupac speaks of his death as his resurrection as Makaveli. This led many people to believe that he may still be alive. Soon after his death, Afeni released a new album by Tupac under her own label Amaru Records called 2Pac R U Still Down? remember me. This album was also a double CD that had several unreleased recordings by Tupac that he previously recorded at Interscope Records. Along with his other albums, this was also controversial. Only Fear of Death is the title of one of the most controversial songs on the album with such lyrics:They wanna bury me, Im worried no need to lie. I pray to God I dont scream when its time to fry. Nowhere to rest Im losin homies, aint that a bitch. When I was rich I had clout, now a niggas lonely. I put the pistol to my head, and say a prayer. I see visions of me dead, Lord are you there? Then tell me am I lost cause Im lonely. I thought I had friends but in the end a nigga dies lonely. Nowhere to run Im in terror, and no one cares. A closed casket at my funera l and no ones there. Is there a future for a killer? I change my ways But still that dont promise me the next day They wonder if Im hell bound well Hell cant be worse than this, cause Im in Hell now Never will I die, Ill be back Reincarnated as a mother*censored*in mack I love it cause in heaven theres no shortage on Gs. Im tellin you now, you mother*censored*ers dont know me(Tupac)In this portion of the song, Tupac once again foretells his vision of his death. The irony of the song is that it was released after his death, which lead many people to believe that he is still alive. Throughout the song, he repeatedly mentions not fearing his death, but rather, returning after death resurrected. Hahaha, I aint scared to die. I aint scared to die. To my homies in heaven, I aint scared to die. Do you wanna live forever? Are you scared, to die? Or will you scream, when you fry? I dont fear death. My only fear of death is comin back, reincarnated. The final chorus continuously repeated Only fear of death is comin back reincarnated. This further lead people to wonder who the song was directed. Just as Afeni, Tupac was thought of as a revolutionary. He knew people wouldnt understand what he stood for, but knew in his heart and mind that if he didnt stand for what he believed in he couldnt stand for anything at all. Rev. Jesse Jackson best explained Tupac while standing outside the hospital in which Tupac died as he was talking to society as a whole: Tupac has had many close calls. But this is about more than Tupac. I ts about the culture of violence that we live in, this survival of the fittest mentality that too often calls out for revenge, for retaliation. This is so sad, sometimes the lure of violent culture is so magnetic that even when one overcomes it with material success, it continues to call. He couldnt break the cycle. I believe Tupac, though he lived a violent life, mostly tried to keep others away from the life he had lived. He died after going farther than a lot of people would have gotten in their entire life. Some believe that Tupacs death was faked but I do not know which to believe. This man was great at what he did, rap, and movies and that is what I admire him for. Patient Safety and the USA Healthcare System Essay
Patient Safety and the USA Healthcare System - Essay Example USA healthcare system has not been efficient in handling the safety of patients. This is because it has encountered various challenges identified by experts. One of the challenges is wrong-site surgery. This occurs when an operation is done on the wrong part of the body. Even though it is rare and preventable it still occurs in the current hospitals. It is apparent that from the year 1995 to 2010 about 956 wrong-site incidents were reported to the Joint Commission. A medication error is another challenge evident in the America health care system. It is apparent when the patients receive the wrong medication or when the wrong dosage is given to a patient. A report by the Institute of Medication in 2006 showed that estimates of 1.5 million Americans each year are harmed by medical errors. This has resulted in an extra medical cost of $3.5 billion (Pauley & Joseph, 2012).Health care-acquired infection is another challenge that the America health care is facing though at a minimal level. The challenge occurs when a person gets an infection while being treated. It is apparent that 1 out of 20 patients hospitalized in United States contract health care acquire infections. At the end, the patient spends more time in the hospital and takes longer recovery time. Falls are other causes of injuries in the health care settings and the outside environment. Research has shown that about 500,000 falls happen each year in Americans hospitals resulting to 150,000 injuries (Savage & Ford, 2008).

Gastrointestinal Disorders Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words
Gastrointestinal Disorders - Essay Example Functional gastrointestinal diseases are associated with a plethora of symptoms which present biochemical and structural abnormality which is unidentifiable (Chang, Locke, McNally, Halder, Schleck, Zinsmeister, & Talley, 2010). Ageing itself is associated with numerous functional changes in the gastrointestinal tracts; such changes involve motility, intraluminal digestion, secretion and absorbtion (Grassi, Petraccia, Mennuni, Fontanna, Scarno, Sabetta, & Fraioli, 2011). Oropharyngeal muscle dismotility has a high preveilance among the elderly patients. Another functional disorder that is present in elderly patients is gastroesophagal reflux, which occurs as a result of reduced esophagal peristalsis and pressure on the lower esophageal sphincter (Park, 2011). Gastric emptying and motility has been found to be normal with ageing, however, some studies have shown that in some instances it may slow down. Structural neurological and endocrine changes lead to disturbed functioning in parts of the G.I tract. These include the propulsive motility of the colon, which is decreased due to these changes. A decrease in gastric secretions also causes gastric ulcers as the structure of the mucous bicarbonate barrier is also impaired (Park, 2011). Other functions that also decrease with age include pancreatic secretion and the level of bile salts. The above mentioned structural and functional changes along with other factors are part of the mechanisms that result in gastrointestinal diseases such as gastroesophagal reflux disease, dysphagia, primary dyspepsia, primary constipation, bowel syndrome, and a reduced level of nutrient absorption (Grassi, Petraccia, Mennuni, Fontanna, Scarno, Sabetta, & Fraioli, 2011). Evaluation of elderly patients is a complex process and may require more than one session (The Merck Manual, n.d.). The patients often become fatigued and the examination will have to be conducted at a later stage. The evaluation of elderly patients has also been assoc iated with underreporting and typical manifestations for certain disorders maybe absent (The Merck Manual, n.d.). Elderly patients often have several different problems with their health hence it is difficult to analyze the system that is affected and whether or not the pathology is a result of malfunctioning of other organs. Concomitant disorders can affect the results obtained from the diagnostic test and may show pathological signs from another system, which can be mistaken for another disease (Shamburek & Farrar, 1990). Therapeutic response by elderly patients is usually very slow as organism is undergoing physiological degradation. Drugs which are administered to elderly patients should present minimal adverse effects to other organs such as the liver as the damage from these drugs may be more severe (The Merck Manual,
